Weddings at Ford House
Combining the love of nature
with the nature of love……
Weddings at Ford House are a unique occasion. The property provides a wonderful intimate opportunity for small weddings. The wedding itself can be held in any part of the garden, each season offering different and secluded vistas. Our favourite place is under the Siberian elm (where we got married). But there are many other places. There is no cost for in house guests using our gardens as a venue.
Accommodation for up to 16 guests is available within the Ford House "village". Every room is unique. However, both the secluded Cooks Retreat or the Grand Ballroom has every luxury at hand to make your first night as a married couple romantic and indulgent.
Until 1998 (when she opted out for country life), Jenny, as Jenny Brickwood, was one of the largest independent wedding photographers in Perth, covering over 100 weddings a year. Using natural light and natural settings, Ford House is a dream location with beautiful gardens, river and historic buildings all providing a wonderful backdrop. Feel free to view some of Jenny’s previous portfolio.
We pride ourselves on being flexible and creative enough to provide the wedding you want, whether it is to be in a tent, open air or within the café or hand-adzed Barn. We love to create lavish exciting feasts… vivid floral arrangements, romantic table settings, and intimate, warm lighting… images that will stay in your mind forever.
The wedding feast may be at noon, sunset or midnight. It may be anything from a sumptuous summer picnic served on the banks of the Blackwood River, to a formal dinner in an opulent setting Some of our previous weddings are shown elsewhere on this website. The range is endless, the choice is yours. The food is perfectly matched to balance the mood of the day.
Flowers are not just a tiny blip in jam jars on the tables at Ford House. One of Jenny’s passions is using seasonal foliage and flowers in abundance to complement the décor. As the wedding ends, the marriage begins. Often, guests who may be staying further afield come back in the morning to bond with the newly married couple over a heart warming breakfast.
