THE TONGUE & GROOVE CAFE

at the Ford House Retreat

Scrumptious food in a garden setting ......Scrumptuous food in a garden setting.......Scrumptuous food in a garden setting.....

Set amongst heritage roses and silver birches between Ford and Aislinn House, the Café opens as a breakfast room for in-house guests.

Open, by private arrangement for groups,  for delectable sweet and savoury treats, as well as teas, coffee and other drinks. Visitors passing by, whether  by bus, car, kayak or bike are lured to the tranquility and quiet hospitality.

At night,  the café transforms to an intimate dining experience, flickering candles, fresh flowers, starched napkins and  delicious food. Pre-Bookings are required .

Jenny  always demonstrates her abundant flair and ingenuity as a dessert and cake-maker. Ken, standing always ready in his gumboots, provides the savoury fare. They usually work well together.

Special diets or religious requirements are no problem, if adequate notice is given. Many vegetarian dishes are also always available.

Café patrons may bring their own alcohol (BYO) without any nasty corkage charge. Soft drinks are available.

Cafe cuisine offered in the past six months

The café, its adjoining barn and the garden are available for weddings, birthdays and small corporate functions. As a sanctuary away from phones, faxes and other interruptions, it is a perfect environment for focused group development and conferences.  Facilities such as mood lighting, slide projectors and whiteboards are all available at Ford House.

Above the café, Jenny has a wedding and art studio. Jenny was one of Perth’s foremost family portrait and wedding photographers. Jenny now uses the picturesque garden, parkland and natural landscape at Ford House as a backdrop for her photography.

There are always artworks on display in the cafe. Their vibrant style adds glamour to the café, and is available for purchase.

The Cafe is currently closed due to the health of one of the owners.
