“The most
magical place in Australia -
has to be experienced to be
believed”
Reviewed 30 March 2011
From the
moment one steps through the
gate covered in climbing
roses, the magic begins.
It's hard to say what the
best part of staying at Ford
House is... it could be the
greetings from the noisy
geese at breakfast, the
hearty cooked breakfast made
by Ken, the zany stories
from Jenny over a long
breakfast coffee in the
barn, or it could be the
shopper's paradise with some
much to choose from it's
actually overwhelming. It
could be the gift wrapping
your choice of gift is
swathed in, it may be the
stunning room you stay in
whether it be in the
original Ford House with its
themed rooms and tasteful
decor to the chalet
accomodation decked in white
with a modern rustic feel.
You too could fall in love
with the gardens, the barn
breakfast, the shops with so
much to choose from or quite
simply the wonderful owners
who make this place so
special. One visit will
never be enough and if
you're like me you'll keep
wanting to come back for
more of it all. And that's
just Ford House, there's the
river at the bottom of the
garden, the Bridgetown Hotel
which does great food and
local produce and wineries
to add to an already magical
experience.
Room Tip: Make
sure you stay at least 2
nights

This very unique B & B is
hard to describe. The staff
are friendly, efficient and
helpful. The rooms are
picture perfect and old
worldly. There are several
gift shop rooms absolutely
filled with very interesting
objects from all over the
world. The grounds are
attractive and interesting
to walk around. A gaggle of
friendly geese stroll about
the grounds adding to the
overall charm of the
establishment.
Room Tip: check
out the room on the net

Ford House is so much more
than a B&B....its an entire
experience that is good for
the soul. The rooms are
individual and beautifully
done out with so many
personal touches to enjoy.
Home cooked breakfast is
served in a dinning room
that needs to be seen to be
believed !!!! You can spend
hours exploring & shopping
in the 4 rooms packed with
wonderful merchandise or you
can relax by the river with
a book. What ever your
reasons for a
getaway....ford house is
definitely a place to put on
your "to do list".

Looking
for a unique,warm and
friendly place to stay while
in Bridgetown yet only steps
away from town? Stay at
"Ford House" The place oozes
with history with a
storefront/eporium that will
leave you with the sense of
"what haven't they got
here?" The quality of your
stay here will be I'm sure,
5 out of 5- from the high
quality linens used, to the
"wonderful" breakfasts that
Ken will produce......all
you need do is inform him as
to what you might like for
the first meal of the
day.For the rest of the
morning/day Jenny will show
you all there is to offer on
site.So go,enjoy and
possibly come away with a
sense of the history that
surrounds this "home away
from home"

Amazing value for money.
Very romantic and lots of
good knick-knack shopping
for ladies. Looking right
over the river. Hosts are
wonderful, breakfast was
great and our room (Cooks
Retreat) was beautiful.
Highly recommended for
couples. Had dinner at the
Bridgetown Hotel which was
superb!!

“The most
magical place I have ever
been to!”

As soon as I stepped out of
my car, I knew this was
going to be an experience to
remember. The reception area
is inside the most amazing
shop you have ever seen- Wag
Walters Emporium. It takes
up 5 rooms and the entrence
area and is full of the most
wonderful little trinkets,
jewellery, christmas
decorations, fine bone
china.....so many things
that I couldn't possibly put
them all down on here. My
favourite room was
definately the breakfast
room. Hubby and I stayed in
the Cooks Retreat which is a
small building at the rear
of the property. It is a
beautiful room- very cosy.
We will definately be
staying at Ford House again.
I reccommend staying no less
than 2 nights.

My wife and I have stayed at Ford House on many occassions. I travel to Bridgetown for business, and the only way my wife will come with me is if we stay at Ford House. Ken and Jenny are excellent hosts, and treat as like family. we have taken overseas visitors there and they love it. The rooms are like a treasure trove of antiques, with beautiful art and books. A great place to relax
